Ritu Shanthi (Age Attending Ceremony)

Ritu Shanti or Rajaswala shanti is a ceremony performed for the girl who reaches puberty, commonly known as Pushpavati. The ritual cleanses the girl and her surroundings of negative energies that may affect her. The timing of the ceremony is determined by checking for any doshas, and if present, the Shanti is performed accordingly. Punyahavachanam, a crucial part of the ritual, involves invoking the power in the water through Ganapathy pooja, Kalasha pooja, and chanting mantras. Then, the purified water is sprinkled on the Pushpavati, especially if doshas are detected. Shanti Homam, Navagraha and Nakshatra Shanti are also performed if required. Ritu Shanti is typically performed on the 11th day, although in some communities, it may be conducted on the 5th day. The benefits of Ritu Shanti include the purification of the girl and her surroundings, as well as protection against negative effects. To conduct Ritu Shanti, one can book a priest who will bring all the necessary Pooja Samagri. The priests are experienced and have studied Vedic Pathshalas.
