Pandakkal Pooja is a pre-wedding ritual typically performed one day before the marriage. During this brief ceremony, the bride and groom's parents and relatives offer prayers to the ancestral deity represented symbolically by a bamboo pole, which signifies fertility. This ritual aims to ensure a smooth marriage process and to ward off any evil eye or negative influences on the couple. The Pandakkal Pooja involves erecting a bamboo pole in front of the house, decorated with Manjal and Kumkum. The ritual is performed to seek blessings from the deity and to remove any evil eye that may affect the bride or groom.
